Our indirect subsidiary, Global Ports Holding Plc ("GPH"), has notified us that the new cruise terminal constructed at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria cruise port in the Canary Islands, Spain, operated by Global Ports Canary Islands S.L. ("GPCI"), in which GPH holds an 80% stake, has been completed and has become operational following its official inauguration ceremony held on March 19, 2026. The facility, recognized as the largest cruise terminal in Europe, offers 14,000 square meters distributed across two levels. It features three boarding bridges and has the operational capacity to accommodate up to four cruise ships simultaneously. Its layout ensures smooth and efficient operations for both transit calls and homeport ships, projecting a modern and welcoming image of the island.
The terminal is part of a 40 million euros investment plan, aimed at modernizing cruise terminals in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote. With the new terminal, it is aimed to enhance the operational capacity and service infrastructure of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria cruise port.,
The project was constructed with the latest sustainability and innovation standards, including energy-efficient systems, solar power solutions, and responsible waste management, making the terminal a reference model for sustainable port infrastructure in Europe. This investment is expected to enhance the regional competitiveness of the Las Palmas cruise port and to contribute positively to GPH's global portfolio from both operational and commercial perspectives.
Since taking over operations in 2022, cruise traffic across the three ports — Las Palmas, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura — has grown from 1.4 million to over 2 million passengers by 2025. With the completion of the new terminals, the ports are well positioned to unlock the next phase of cruise growth.
