Our Company has been informed that our indirect subsidiary Global Ports Holding ("GPH") has signed a 24-year operating concession agreement of the Acapulco Cruise Port, tendered by the Administration of the National Port System Acapulco, S.A. de C.V. ("ASIPONA") in Acapulco, Mexico.
Under the concession, GPH will develop a terminal building and commercial areas to serve cruise operations within a total concession area of 17,199 square meters. As part of the project, GPH intends to implement phased investments to enhance cruise operations, improve passenger flow, and elevate the overall visitor experience. Also, GPH plans to work closely with cruise line partners and local stakeholders to introduce new destination experiences and shore-side concepts that will further elevate Acapulco's appeal as a unique port of call along Pacific/Mexican Riviera cruise itineraries. In addition, within the scope of this process, ASIPONA is planning to construct a new 350-meter berth using public resources. The new berth, which is planned to be completed in the first quarter of 2027, will be part of the concession area. Through the investments to be made by GPH and ASIPONA, it is planned to position Acapulco as an important transit destination particularly for cruise ships whose itineraries start from the west coast of the Americas.
Acapulco represents an important and well-established destination as the first port of Mexico and with its rich history. It is targeted that the port's passenger volumes will increase in the coming years through GPH's leadership in global cruise port operations, its global sales and marketing network, and its strong relationships with cruise lines.
GPH aims to commence the operations in the second quarter of 2026, working closely with ASIPONA on the planning and technical preparations required for the project. The development is expected to deliver a modern cruise facility where port operations and commercial activities are integrated to support sustainable growth in cruise tourism.
